Lynn Loyns (born February 22, 1981 in Naicam , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

The left shooter began his career in 1997 with the Spokane Chiefs in the Canadian Junior League WHL and completed his first game in the American Hockey League in 2001 with the Cleveland Barons , the then farm team of the San Jose Sharks . A year later, the winger received his first appearances in the National Hockey League , where he scored three hits in 19 missions for the Sharks.

In the 2003/2004 season Loyns was both for the NHL club San Jose Sharks and for the Calgary Flames , to which he was transferred during the season, on the ice. There were also missions with the Cleveland Barons and the Lowell Lock Monsters , where he completed the entire 2004/05 season due to the lockout in the NHL . In the 2005/06 season the striker not only booked 68 appearances for the AHL club Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights , but was ordered back for another game to the Calgary Flames. The Canadian played a total of 34 games in the highest North American professional league , but due to a lack of prospects he moved to Europe for the 2006/07 season , where he joined the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League . After playing a total of four seasons in Germany and having to end the last one prematurely due to a torn cruciate ligament, Loyns decided in mid-November 2010 to switch to HC Pustertal from the Italian Serie A1 , where he replaced his compatriot Tyler Doig . In July 2011 he switched to EC VSV in the Austrian EBEL , where he signed a contract until 2012. After two scorer points in nine games, his contract was prematurely terminated in October 2011. In November he received a contract with the DEG Metro Stars .
