Mokolea Rock (also in English as Mokolea Rock rock called) is a small, uninhabited rocky island in the archipelago of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean . It is located in Kailua Bay , about two kilometers east of the to O'ahu belonging Mokapu Peninsula .

The hard-to-reach, rugged island is 23 meters long, 15 meters wide and has an area of 0.016  hectares (160 m²). Mōkōlea is the remnant of a former volcano of the cinder cone type and reaches a height of up to five meters above sea level.

Since the rock is often flooded by storm, only a few types of plants grow on it; also only two species of seabirds breed on Mōkōlea. Nevertheless, it is a Hawaii State Seabird Sanctuary ( bird sanctuary ) and only allows restricted access.
