MBK Dynamo Moscow

MBK Dynamo Moscow is a basketball club from Moscow . He belongs to the sports club Dynamo , which was founded in 1923 .

Dynamo Moscow won the USSR championship twice (1937 and 1948) and was twice vice-champion of the USSR (1944 and 1990) and twice Russian vice-champion (1995 and 1996).

In 1997 the association was dissolved due to financial problems, but was re-established in 2001.

The European ULEB Cup was won in 2006, and the quarter-finals of the Europa League were reached the following year . For the 2007/08 season Svetislav Pešić was hired as a coach , but he only stayed there until April of the following year.

Together with nine other clubs, Dynamo stepped out of the Superleague Russia in 2010 to participate in the newly founded Professionalnaja Basketbolnaja League . For financial reasons, however, the club was excluded from this league after a year.

With the start of the 2012/13 season, Dynamo Moscow will start again in the second Russian league, the Super League.
