Macasius (family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Macasius or Macasi, Macasy, later Makasy is the name of a Bohemian family with origins in Friuli . One branch of the family received the nobility diploma in 1663 with the rating of Sternfels .

history

The family name is of Rhaeto-Romanic origin. The gender has its origin in Friuli. As early as 1491, an alleged ancestor by the name of Daniel Anton Macasy is mentioned in San Martino, Spilimbergo (German Spengenberg ). Johannes Macasi the Elder Ä. emigrated from Carinthia to Bohemia for reasons of faith and was pastor in Platten in 1580 and pastor in Lichtenstadt from 1581 . In 1663 the Bergmeister von Gottesgab and Mayor of St. Joachimsthal Johann Gabriel Macasy in Prague, together with his three sons, was awarded the nobility diploma with the title of Sternfels , which also included all his marital heirs and the same heirs of Mans and Frawen Personen für Eifellich at all places and ends . However, subsequent generations probably no longer all carried the predicate. A direct descendant, Franz Anton Makasy, citizen and merchant in St. Joachimsthal, was re-confirmed the nobility with the tribal succession of the Macasy von Sternfels . The letter of nobility then passed to his son Johann Nepomuk Anton Makasy, a merchant in Prague.
