The 2008/09 season of the Magners League , the championship jointly played by Irish, Welsh and Scottish rugby teams, began on September 5, 2008. The season consisted of 18 game days (a preliminary and a second half) and lasted until May 17 2009. Munster was already the champions two game days before the end .
