Maja Weber (born  June 4, 1976 in Laupheim ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Career

Maja Weber attended the Wieland grammar school in Biberach an der Riss , where she also graduated from high school. From autumn 1995 she studied Romance languages at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz up to the intermediate examination. From 1997 to 1998 she spent a year in Bologna , where she attended lectures and seminars in Italian studies at the university . After returning to Germany, Weber took from autumn 1998 at the University in Osnabrueck the graduate program of European Studies on. Between July 2001 and July 2002 she studied in Paris at the Sorbonne Université , where she obtained the French master's degree Maîtrise en Études Européennes . After completing her German master’s degree in 2005, she worked as an interpreter and language trainer .

Maja Weber began to be interested in working as a journalist in 2006. First she worked as a freelance journalist for the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung , at the regional studio Osnabrück of the NDR , at Nachtkritik.de as well as for the monthly magazine Theater der Zeit . From 2008 to 2009 she worked as a trainee at the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. From 2009 to 2010 she completed a program traineeship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk. From 2010 she worked as a freelancer for the NDR broadcasts DAS! , NDR aktuell , Kultur Journal and ZAPP with. From 2010 to 2011 she also worked as a reporter for the German-French cultural broadcaster Arte . From July 2012 to December 2015 she moderated the media section on Tagesschau24 for ARD . Between 2015 and 2016 she worked as a news presenter for the radio program NDR Kultur .

For ZDF , she and other colleagues have been moderating the news formats Today and Today Xpress , which are distributed on the ZDF and ZDFinfo channels and on the Internet , since 2016 . Since the beginning of 2018 Maja Weber has been involved in Reporterfabrik.org , an educational project of the research center Correctiv , and is involved in various workshops.

Maja Weber is married, has one child and lives in Hamburg .

Awards

  • The Great Real Estate Compass 2008, which she had put together with 83 other colleagues, was awarded the German Journalist Prize in the same year .
