Sylvester Malik Arrendell (born January 1, 1973 in Munich as Sylvester Malik Ruddigkeit ) is a former German basketball player . Malik Arrendell's father, Stanley Edward Arrendell, is from Aruba ; after his career as a basketball player, Malik Ruddigkeit took on the surname of his birth father. He now lives in Munich and works, among other things, as a television commentator for the broadcaster Eurosport and in marketing for fitness studios.
Arrendell comes from the youth work of TuS Bramsche and was initially also active in the basketball league for the club from near Osnabrück . In 1995 he moved to Trier and made it into the national team there. However, he could not qualify for a final squad within the national team. In 1997 he moved to Oberelchingen . Arrendell was also internationally active in the Korać Cup with the Elks . In 1999 the Elche withdrew from the Bundesliga and Ruddigkeit moved to Braunschweig . About halfway through the season he moved back to Trier and made it to the play-off quarter-finals of the 1999/2000 season with the Trier team , which he had previously achieved with Bramsche 1994, Trier 1997 and Oberelchingen 1999. In the cup, Trier made it to the semi-finals this season. In both Braunschweig and Trier, however, he was only on the field for an average of 10 minutes, while in Oberelchingen it was more than 30 minutes in the previous season. The 2000/01 season started Arrendell again in Braunschweig. Increasing back problems further limited his working time and he switched to the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga Group South in Tübingen . The following season he was still active for the Magics in Düsseldorf in the northern group of the second division.
Others
Arrendell was married to former playmate Heydi Núñez Gómez and has a son. In 2015 Arrendell divorced Heydi Núñez Gómez.
