Malschitzky , also: Malschitzki , Malschitz or Malszycki as well as: Kokoske , Kokoschke or Kokoski , is the name of an extinct, originally Kashubian aristocratic family from Western Pomerania , which in Prussian times excelled primarily as an officer family, and was also able to spread to Mecklenburg-Strelitz .

history

Still operating under the name of Kokoske , the family owned the Dzechlin estate as early as the 15th century . In 1575 were Malschitzky with Vargow invested . In 1828 the Malschitzky agnates were asked to assert their claims to Vargow, otherwise the estate would have fallen to the Crown as Allodium . In 1835 the family in Prussia seems to have died out, but perhaps flourished for a few more years in Mecklenburg, where individual members were in government service.

The Malschitzky provided numerous officers in the Prussian army . Including two major generals who were each also commanders of an infantry or cavalry regiment . Johann Friedrich von Malschitzky received the order Pour le Mérite in 1793 .

The Malschitzky belonged to the Leliwa coat of arms cooperative .

The family coat of arms shows a hexagonal silver star in blue over a formed, upturned silver moon. On the helmet with blue-silver covers, the star between two stag sticks .

Like the moon, the star is also given in gold.
