Manfred Zeller (born March 28, 1954 in Mödling ) is an Austrian painter , graphic artist and cultural organizer.

Career

After training at the Pedagogical Academy , Zeller initially worked as an art teacher from 1975 to 1985 . He then taught color theory , drawing and painting at the artistic adult education center in Vienna until 1995 . Manfred Zeller has been working as a freelance painter and graphic artist since 1986 . From this point on, its exhibition activity also begins.

As early as 1978, Zeller was occupied with the techniques of watercolor , gouache , etching , pen and oil painting , from 1983 Zeller concentrated on concrete painting , focusing his artistic work primarily on the technique of watercolor. His works are primarily depictions of nature and landscapes, with a focus on vedute of the Weinviertel . What is important to him is the " return to the representation of nature without false traditionalism ."

Together with his artist wife Eva, Zeller renovated a former Fassbinder house in Vienna- Stammersdorf in 1997 and set up the so-called " Atelier Zeller " there. The house not only serves as a residence and studio but is also used as a gallery and venue for cultural events. Vernissages , exhibitions , readings and concerts have been held here since 1999, including readings by the well-known Austrian writers Andreas Okopenko , Robert Schindel , Dietmar Grieser and Alfred Komarek .

In 2013, Zeller founded the art and culture association "kunst hoch drei" , which promotes cross-genre joint events and networking between painting , poetry and music .

With the publication of his first, illustrated volume of poetry in 2018, “Noch noch bin ich's”, in which he depicts the beauty of the Weinviertel in words and pictures, he himself now combines the artistic genres in book form.

In addition to his artistic activities, Zeller is also politically active. After running for the Greens in the National Council elections in 2002 , Zeller was appointed by the Vienna Greens in 2003 as a member of the MA50 Vienna Housing Commission for three years . After further local political involvement in the " Citizens ' Initiative for Stammersdorf" , Zeller is running for the 2019 National Council election on the NEOS federal party list .

Manfred Zeller lives together with his wife Eva Zeller in Vienna-Stammersdorf.
