Marco Justus Schöler

Marco Justus Schöler (born May 24, 1990 in Mannheim ) is a German commercial photographer . His focus is on portrait photography , advertising photography and photos of prominent personalities. He gained national fame through his project Faces Behind the Voices in 2016.

Life

Marco Justus Schöler grew up in Laudenbach on Bergstrasse . At the age of 14 he developed his passion for photography , inspired by his grandfather, who bequeathed him many analog cameras . With this creative hobby, Schöler taught himself photography .

In 2011 Schöler decided to move to Berlin . After a few months of assisting various national and international photographers and directors , he started his own business. Over the years he developed his own visual language and specialized in striking portraits of well-known personalities as well as works for good causes.

His customers include Deutsche Bahn , Carlsberg , 20th Century Fox , Mercedes-Benz and Omega Watches . He has already photographed Bud Spencer , Mats Hummels , Thomas Müller , Reinhold Messner , Hannes Jaenicke , Joko Winterscheidt , Swizz Beatz , Matthias Schweighöfer , Cro , Ken Block and many others. Marco Justus has been the German ambassador for the Swiss flash unit manufacturer Bron Elektronik since 2016.

Projects

Faces Behind The Voices
His most popular project so far was the multimedia project "Faces Behind The Voices", which was dedicated to the anonymous trade of German dubbing . He got the idea for a film with Leonardo DiCaprio and his distinctive, German voice. After long and persistent research, he photographed the 30 most famous voice actors in Germany. The exhibition toured in 2016 through the largest main train stations in Germany. From spring 2017 the tour will continue in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . In 2016, over 4 million media enthusiasts visited the exhibition tour for “Faces Behind The Voices”. An interactive illustrated book of the same name was published parallel to the exhibition tour. The illustrated book is combined with a smartphone app through which the reader can experience the exhibition.
