biography

Skjøld competed in their first FIS races in November 2008, but initially remained without significant success. In February 2010 she won her first race, an FIS giant slalom in Hakadal, Norway. After she was mainly used in FIS races up to and including the 2011/12 season, she contested her first European Cup races in Vemdalen at the end of November 2012 , but initially clearly missed the points. At the beginning of 2013 she was clearly improved with two victories in FIS races and several placements among the top ten, especially in slalom .

Since the 2013/14 season , Skjøld has regularly competed in the European Cup and won her first points in this racing series on December 13, 2013 as the 25th of Andalo Paganella's slalom . In the same winter, she took part in a Junior World Championship for the only time in Jasná, Slovakia , where she achieved eleventh place in the super combined as the best result. At the end of the season at the Norwegian Championships , she won the bronze medal in the downhill behind Lotte Smiseth Sejersted and Mina Fürst Holtmann .

The following winter she achieved her first podium in a European Cup race when she finished third behind Marion Pellissier and Lena Dürr in the Alpine Combination of Hinterstoder . At the Norwegian Championships in Hemsedal , Skjøld won the title in this discipline and also the bronze medal in Super-G and giant slalom. At the beginning of the 2015/16 European Cup season , she won the Alpine Combined on December 12, 2015 in Kvitfjell, celebrating her first victory in this racing series. A good month later, on January 15, 2016, she made her World Cup debut at the Flachau slalom , but was unable to qualify for the second round. She won her first World Cup points on February 15, 2016, finishing 24th in the Crans-Montana slalom . She achieved her best World Cup placement so far on February 28, 2016 as 17th in the Alpine Combined by Soldeu . At the end of winter, Skjøld became the first Norwegian European Cup overall winner and was also able to win the slalom and combined rankings. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the bronze medal in the team competition - without having been used herself.

In the 2018/19 season , Skjøld gradually lost touch with the top of the world and did not get past 13th place, in the winter of 2019/20 she only had one countable result. Since she was no longer considered for the national team for the 2020/21 season , she announced her resignation on June 3, 2020.
