biography

Dürr contested her first FIS race in December 2006 . After she finished on the podium for the first time in January 2008, she made her first appearances in the European Cup at the end of this month in the Lenggries slalom . Already in the first slalom she reached ninth place straight away and the next day she just missed the podium in fourth. Two weeks later she made her World Cup debut in the slalom in Zagreb . As the penultimate of the first run she could not qualify for the second run. At the Junior World Championship in Formigal in 2008 , her best result was ninth place in the slalom.

In the 2008/09 European Cup season , Dürr was able to classify herself in the top five in two slaloms and two Super-Gs, with her first podium finish on December 17th in the Schruns slalom . This brought her to ninth place in the overall standings, fourth in slalom and sixth in the Super G class. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she did not achieve top positions with 14th place in the Super-G and 22nd place in the giant slalom. The 17-year-old achieved her greatest national success to date on March 23, 2009 when she became German downhill champion. Shortly afterwards she was runner-up in the Super-G and third in the Super Combined.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 European Cup season , Dürr made it onto the podium for the second time in the indoor slalom at the Alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg, and on December 4, 2009, she achieved her first victory in the giant slalom in Kvitfjell . With another victory in the giant slalom in Soldeu and a total of five podium places, she won the overall European Cup and was second in the giant slalom classification. On December 28th, 2009 she got the first World Cup points in her second World Cup race, the giant slalom of Lienz , in 25th place and was able to score again the next day with a 21st place in the slalom. She achieved her first top 10 result in the giant slalom in Maribor on January 16, 2010 with a ninth place. At the 2010 Junior World Championships , she won the silver medal in giant slalom with Federica Brignone . She was also fourth in the Super-G and ninth in the slalom.

In the 2010/11 season , Dürr was among the fastest 20 in two World Cup giant slaloms . She was also 18th in the top 20 in the giant slalom of the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . She was sixth in this discipline at the Junior World Championships . In the 2011/12 season , Dürr again achieved several top 10 results in the World Cup, with sixth place in the slalom in Ofterschwang on March 4, her best ever World Cup result. At the beginning of the 2012/13 World Cup season , Dürr achieved two more sixth places. On January 29, 2013, she took part in the City Event in Moscow (as a replacement for Viktoria Rebensburg , who did not start) and surprisingly won the race. At the 2013 World Championships in Schladming , she won her first World Championship medal with bronze in the team competition. A few weeks later she was able to celebrate a victory in the same discipline at the season finale on March 15, 2013 in Lenzerheide , but this competition was only part of the Nations Cup. Dürr did not qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In the 2014/15 season , Dürr was initially unable to build on its previous performance. Nevertheless, she was nominated for the 2015 World Championships , where she finished 13th in slalom. Shortly thereafter, with fifth place in the Maribor slalom, she achieved both the first top 10 result in more than two years and the best World Cup placement in this discipline to date.
