Mariane Bitran
Mariane Bitran (* 1961 in Paris ) is a French creative jazz musician (flute, composition ).
Bitran learned the flute from the age of nine . She studied classical flute at the Conservatory in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés with Regis Calle and Raymond Guyot and at CNR Paris , where she graduated in 1980 with first prize. In 1974 she found her way to jazz through Eric Dolphy and Return to Forever . In 1981 she began to work as a professional musician; In 1998 she moved to Denmark. She worked with her own quintet All One , which consists of Danish and French musicians. She also led the quintet Gray to Blue with Bob Rockwell together with pianist Makiko Hirabayashi .
She also worked in the bands of Pernille Bévort and Peter Danstrup, in a duo with the singer Nina Björk Eliason as well as in the Copenhagen Art Ensemble , the Bejboom / Kroner Big Band and with Alain Apaloo i duo. She also recorded albums with Chassol , the quintet of Louis and François Moutin , the Arnold Ludvig Sextet, with Alain Apaloo's Api Pipo with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nenê , Bojan Z , the Zoomtop Orchestra by Bertrand Renaudin , the Paris Flute Orchestra and with Simon Spang- Hanssen , with whom she also toured in Brazil in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
