Geographical location

The Marienberg is located east of Jugenheim in the Geo-Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald between the Stettbacher Tal in the north and the Balkhäuser Tal in the south. On its northwestern flank lies the offshore Heiligenberg ( 209  m above sea  level ) with the Heiligenberg Castle , the Heiligenberg monastery ruins and the Evangelical Mountain Church slightly below.

Development

The summit of the Marienberg can only be reached by small forest paths. The offshore Heiligenberg, however, is a popular excursion destination and can be reached from Jugenheim via a paved road to the parking lot of the Heiligenberg Castle as well as through economic and hiking trails that lead up from the two adjacent valleys. The two main hiking trails of the Odenwald Club HW73 Burgensteig Bergstrasse and HW3 Flower Trail run over the Heiligenberg . A cycling and hiking trail runs north and east around the Marienberg.

view

The Marienberg offers no view from its summit because of the tall trees. From Heiligenberg you have a wide view of the Rhine plain from the Palatinate Forest in the southwest over the Donnersberg in the west to the Taunus in the northwest.
