Mario Hohn (born March 23, 1989 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) is a German soccer player who plays for SGM Riexingen in the Enz-Murr district league.

Career

In his youth, Hohn played for TSV Unterriexingen and SGV Freiberg . In 2006 he moved to the A-Jugend of VfB Stuttgart , with whom he reached first place in the U-19 Bundesliga South / Southwest in 2008 alongside players like Julian Schieber , Boris Vukčević , Patrick Funk , Daniel Didavi or Ermin Bičakčić and in Eliminated in the semi-finals of the German A-Junior Championship against VfL Wolfsburg .

In the summer of 2008, Hohn moved to VfR Aalen in the newly founded 3rd division . In September 2008 he was appointed to the U-20 selection team of the Württemberg Football Association . He finally made his professional debut on October 4, 2008, when he came on in the 74th minute of the 3-0 away defeat at 1. FC Union Berlin . In mid-October 2008, he took part in a national cup in Duisburg with the U-21 selection team of the WFV . In the further course of the season he came to a total of 10 league appearances, initially short appearances; because of injury concerns when up to eleven players were injured or suspended in the final phase of the season, he was also on the starting line-up. Under head coach Rainer Scharinger , who was newly signed up shortly before the end of the season , Hohn was on the starting line-up in all four remaining games. After relegation to the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd , he was the only player on the team whose contract was also valid for the lower division. Except for the injured Andreas Hofmann and Robert Lechleiter , all other players left the club, coach Scharinger built a new team with mostly young players from lower divisions.

In the following season , Hohn completed a total of 29 league games for VfR and reached the championship of the Regionalliga Süd and the associated direct promotion as well as winning the WFV Cup and the associated participation in the first main round of the DFB Cup . There, in the 1: 2 defeat against eventual cup winners FC Schalke 04 , Hohn was also used. In the new season he played in only 13 games due to frequent injuries. He tore a cruciate ligament in April 2011 and was out for the rest of the season. His contract, which expired on June 30, 2011, was not renewed at VfR Aalen, after which Hohn was without a club for a long time.

After he had recovered completely, he was signed by the upper division FC Nöttingen in January 2013 . In the second half of the 2012/13 season , Hohn made 13 league games again. The Oberliga Baden-Württemberg 2013/14 he finished with Nöttingen in third place in the table, which enabled the team to qualify for the promotion games to the Regionalliga Südwest and make them successful. After the direct relegation, Hohn succeeded in being promoted again to the Regionalliga Südwest a year later in the summer of 2016, whereupon he left FC Nöttingen to join TSV Essingen in the Association League Württemberg . In his first season he completed 11 appearances and scored 2 goals. After a meniscus tear in early May 2017, he made his comeback in August, but was only used three times until December and left the club at the end of 2017.

In January 2018, Hohn moved to his home club in Unterriexingen , which now plays as SGM Riexingen (syndicate of TSV Unterriexingen and TSV Oberriexingen) in the Enz-Murr district league.

Style of play

Due to his relatively small height of 1.65 m and his speed, Hohn is considered a nimble player, which is why he was nicknamed Speedy . As a right-footed player, he usually plays in left midfield, but is also used as a left full-back.
