Mario Terzic

Mario Terzic (born July 25, 1945 in Feldkirch ) is a draftsman, object artist and landscape designer.

life and work

Mario Terzic received his first artistic suggestions from his teacher Josef Stoitzner at the Stubenbastei grammar school . From 1964 to 1968 he studied at the Academy of Applied Arts Vienna . He completed his diploma in industrial design with Franz Hoffmann . Terzic worked from 1968 to 1970 in Walter Pichler's studio in Vienna. From 1970 his drawings and objects were shown in numerous exhibitions. From 1979–1981 he planned the Arcadia garden staging for the Belvedere Palace Gardens in Vienna and Creux-de-Genthod in Geneva , a project that was ultimately only realized as an exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in the Palais Liechtenstein . In 1984 he organized the AutoMobil group trip to southern France and Italy with the Badischer Kunstverein, and in 1990 he initiated the Paris trip with the sea tool kit . Elaborately designed festivals such as Air de France (Champagnerball, Wiener Konzerthaus , 1987) and Pronto Verdi (Prodomo Vienna, 1988), as well as actions in public spaces such as Gegenblickanlage ( Graz , 1993) and Hohe Schneiderei ( Ulm , 1993), form the experience space for his garden projects. In 1991 he was appointed full professor of graphics at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . From 1992 he ran the garden of the Palais Rasumofsky with assistants and students of his class and in 1998 founded the group Trinidad - Kunst.Garten.Agrikultur , which existed until 2003. In 2000 Terzic founded the landscape design class at the University of Applied Sciences. He developed numerous theoretical projects and drafts on various aspects of landscape design, such as Stocznia Gdańska Landscape Park ( Gdańsk , 2006), renovation of the garden of Villa Primavesi (Vienna, 2007) and a project to design the open space of the Reininghaus grounds (Graz, 2008) . In 2010, at the invitation of the Universalmuseum Joanneum in the Austrian Sculpture Park, he built the ark from living trees .
