Marko Brkušanin ( Serbian - Cyrillic Марко Бркушанин ; born June 21, 1990 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHK Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian Ice Hockey League and the International Hockey League since 2017 .
Career
Marko Brkušanin began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Partizan Belgrade . In 2006/07 the striker played for the club's first team in the Serbian ice hockey league and was national champion with the team. He then went to local rivals HK Red Star Belgrade , with whom he not only competed in the Serbian League, but also in the Serbian-Croatian Pannonian League . In the 2009/10 season he first played for his regular club Partizan in the Slohokej League , which is dominated by Slovenia , but already switched back to Red Star during the season, where he was used for the next year and a half in the junior team, which was in the Hungarian U-20 League. After the end of his junior years in 2011, Brkušanin first played in the men's team of Red Star, but already joined Partizan Belgrade again during the 2012/13 season, where he was on the ice until 2016 and with whom he was Serbian in 2014, 2015 and 2016 Master became. He then moved to HK Belgrade , for which he not only played in the Serbian league, but also in the multinational MOL league . After only one year at HK, he went back to the Red Star, for which he has since been on the ice in the Serbian league and the new International Hockey League .
International
For Serbia and Montenegro Brkušanin took part in Division II of the U-18 World Cup in 2006 . After the breakaway of Montenegro, he played for the all-Serbian team at the U-18 World Cup in 2007 in Division II and after relegation in 2008 in Division III, where he was immediately promoted again by winning the tournament in İzmit . Also at the U-20 World Cup in 2007 he was relegated with the Serbian team from Division II. A year later , however, in this age group at the home tournament in Belgrade, he was immediately promoted back to Division II, in which he then competed in 2009 and 2010 .
In the men's area Brkušanin played for the Serbian team in 2010 in Division I, but had to accept the immediate relegation. He later stood on the ice in Division II at the 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 World Championships .
He also took part in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 for Serbia .
