Marko Jozinović
Marko Jozinović (born March 28, 1920 in Devetine ; † August 11, 1994 in Dubrovnik , Croatia ) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vrhbosna .
Life
Marko Jozinović on 29 June 1944 in the Sacred Heart Cathedral of Sarajevo for priests ordained. In 1945 he was arrested and spent six years with other priests and bishops in Zenica prison . After years as parish priest, Bishop Marko Alaupović sent him to the Pontifical Croatian College of Saint Jerome in Rome in 1961 , he studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and received his doctorate in philosophy in 1964 . From 1969 he taught moral theology and was a professor at the archbishop's seminary in Sarajevo; Archbishop Smiljan Franjo Čekada appointed him to the cathedral chapter .
On June 27, 1977 Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Vrhbosna. He was ordained bishop on October 23, 1977 by the Apostolic Nuncio in Yugoslavia , Archbishop Michele Cecchini . Co- consecrators were Franjo Kuharić , Archbishop of Zagreb , and Petar Čule , Bishop of Mostar-Duvno .
During his tenure, the Sarajevo Cathedral was extensively renovated. He retired on April 19, 1990 for health reasons .
He died in Dubrovnik at the age of seventy-four. His body was transferred to Sarajevo and buried in the bishop's tomb in the cathedral. By 2011, the remains of the archbishops were gradually transferred and solemnly buried.
