Career as a player

Markus Krösche, who won the German A youth championship with Werder Bremen in 1999 as team captain , switched from Bremen amateurs to regional league competitor SC Paderborn 07 in the 2001/02 season , with whom he was second in the table in the 2004/05 season , tied with champions Eintracht Braunschweig , which made it from the Regionalliga Nord to the 2nd Bundesliga . As the longest-serving player, he extended his contract with the SCP for another four years until 2012. He took over the position of team captain from René Müller after he had left the club after Paderborn was relegated to the third division. In the 2008/09 season , Krösche made an immediate return to the 2nd Bundesliga with Paderborn. After extending his contract again in 2011, Krösche ended his career as a professional footballer in the summer of 2014. In his last season, Paderborn was promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2013/14 , to which he contributed with 18 games and two goals.

Krösche played 192 times in the 2nd Bundesliga and 162 times in the third leagues for SC Paderborn. This makes him the record player of SCP 07 and its predecessor clubs in professional football.

Career as a trainer and functionary

Coaching activities in Paderborn and Leverkusen

After the end of his career, Krösche worked in the 2014/15 season as head coach of the second team of SC Paderborn 07, which was competing in the sixth-class Westfalenliga . His contract, which was originally valid until June 30, 2017, was terminated after the end of the season in order to make Krösche move to Bayer 04 Leverkusen to enable.

At the Bundesliga club he assisted his former teammate and coach Roger Schmidt as assistant coach in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons . Krösche signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2017. Due to an indoor ban by Schmidt in the Bundesliga, Krösche was mainly responsible for the team from February 28 to March 5, 2016 (23 to 25 match day) during the games; the team could only reach one point during this time, scored five goals and had to accept ten. During a renewed interior ban from Schmidt, Krösche took over the duties of head coach from October 25 to 29, 2016 during the games. Krösche and the team were eliminated from the DFB Cup against Sportfreunde Lotte and won the Bundesliga game against VfL Wolfsburg .

When Schmidt was released from his duties as head coach on March 5, 2017, Krösche also left the club.

In March 2018, Krösche successfully passed his coaching course and received the DFB football instructor license .

Sports director at SC Paderborn

In mid-March 2017, Krösche Sport became managing director of the third division club SC Paderborn 07 . Krösche signed Steffen Baumgart as the new head coach in the final phase of the season . At the end of the 2016/17 season , however, the sporting relegation to the Regionalliga West was certain. However, since the second division relegated TSV 1860 Munich did not receive the license, SC Paderborn remained in the third division. In the 2017/18 season , Krösche and Baumgart were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and in the 2018/19 season they made it through to the Bundesliga .

Sports director in Leipzig
