Marlon Stockinger
Marlon Alexander Stöckinger (born April 4, 1991 in Manila ) is a Swiss - Filipino racing car driver . He is the first Filipino to win a European formula sport race. In 2015 he started in the GP2 series .
Career
Stöckinger began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 at the age of ten and remained active in this sport until 2007. Among other things, he won the Asian kart championship in 2006. In 2008 he switched to formula racing and started for Eurasia Motorsport in the Pacific Formula BMW . With a podium placement, he finished eighth in the championship as the best driver of his team. He also took part in six European Formula BMW races as a guest starter for EuroInternational .
In 2009 Stöckinger moved completely to Europe and competed in the British Formula Renault . Starting for the Hitech Junior Team , he finished 25th overall. In the subsequent Winter Cup of the series, he finished fifth with a podium finish. In 2010 he contested his second season in the British Formula Renault for his team, which had since been renamed the Atech Grand Prix . On the Croft Circuit he managed to win his first race in the British Formula Renault. With the victory, Stöckinger became the first Filipino to win a European formula sport race. He finished the season behind his teammates Tamás Pál Kiss and Nick Yelloly in eighth place in the drivers' championship. He also started as a guest starter in two races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup .
In 2011 , Stöckinger started for Atech CRS GP in the GP3 series . He finished the season with no points in 29th place overall. In 2012 , Stöckinger switched to Status Grand Prix within the GP3 series . During test drives in winter he had status team boss Teddy Yip jr. convinced of his abilities. Stöckinger won a race and finished the season as the best driver of his team on the tenth championship course.
In 2013 , Stöckinger received a cockpit in the Formula Renault 3.5 at the Lotus racing team supervised by Charouz Racing System . With two seventh places as the best results, he was 18th in the drivers' standings. Internally he was defeated by Marco Sørensen with 23 to 113 points. In 2014 , Stöckinger stayed with Lotus in the Formula Renault 3.5. He got two podium finishes and at the end of the season he was ninth overall. He was internally defeated by Matthieu Vaxivière , who was eighth.
In 2015 Stöckinger switched to the GP2 series and returned to Grand Prix status. He remained without points and finished the season on the 26th championship course. He also returned to Lotus in Formula Renault 3.5 for four race weekends.

Stöckinger was born in Manila . His father Tom Stöckinger is a Swiss businessman, his mother Egin San Pedro is a Filipino.
