Martin Boucar Tine SSS (born September 16, 1966 in Koudiadiène , Senegal ) is a Senegalese religious and Roman Catholic bishop of the Kaolack diocese .

Life

Martin Boucar Tine attended the small seminar in Ngasobil . He then joined the religious community of the Eucharist and began internal formation at the Collège Saint Gabriel in Thiès and at the Collège Sacré-Cœur in Dakar . During this time Tine studied philosophy at the Center Saint Augustin . He then completed the novitiate in Lonzo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and studied Catholic theology at the theologate Saint Eugène de Mazenod in Kinshasa . On October 6, 1995, Martin Boucar Tine made perpetual profession in Koudiadiène and on July 6, 1996 he received the sacrament of ordination .

From 1996 to 1999, Martin Boucar Tine was parish vicar in the parish of Saint-Pierre des Baobabs and from 1997 was also responsible for the Eymard foyer . In 2001 he graduated from the Faculté Catholique in Kinshasa with a degree in dogmatics . Subsequently, Tine was director of the Emmaus Scholasticate in Kinshasa before he became Provincial of the Eucharist in Senegal in 2006 . In addition, from 2008 he was President of the Conference of Religious Superiors in Senegal and from 2010 Parish Vicar in the parish of Saint Joseph de Médina . In 2011, Martin Boucar Tine became the General Councilor of the Eucharist in Rome and head of the Commission for the Formation of the Eucharist in Africa . Finally, since 2017 he was the first General Councilor and Vicar General of his order.

On July 25, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Kaolack. The Apostolic Nuncio in Senegal, Archbishop Michael Wallace Banach , donated him episcopal ordination on November 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Dakar , Benjamin Ndiaye , and the Archbishop Emeritus of Dakar, Cardinal Théodore-Adrien Sarr . The inauguration took place a day later.
