Martin Richter (politician, 1915)

Martin Richter (born July 19, 1915 in Leubnitz , † after 1989) was a German functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . He was a member of the state parliaments of Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Richter, son of a carpenter, attended high school and a college for teacher training. He then worked as a teacher . On November 1, 1936, he joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). From 1938 he did military and war service in the Wehrmacht . As a first lieutenant in Fusilier Battalion 24, he was taken prisoner by the Soviets in 1944 , attended an anti-fascist school and became a member of the NKFD .

After the Second World War he returned to the Soviet occupation zone in 1948 . In 1949 he became a member of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) and managing director of the NDPD district committee in Leipzig . From 1950 to 1989 he was a member of the main committee of the NDPD. From November 1950 to September 1951 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

In 1951 he was named political manager of the NDPD state board of Mecklenburg and the Mecklenburg state committee of the National Front as the successor to the resigned MP Friedrich Ring in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . After the dissolution of the states and the formation of the districts in the GDR in the summer of 1952, he became chairman of the NDPD district association in Neubrandenburg .

In 1953 he went back to Saxony and served as chairman of the NDPD district association Karl-Marx-Stadt (successor to Rudolf Wolf ) until 1975 . From September 1953 to November 1958 he was a member of the NDPD parliamentary group of the People's Chamber and was a member of the constitutional committee. From 1958 to 1976 he was a member of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district assembly . He was deputy chairman of the district committee of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF), member of the district committee of the National Front and the district committee of URANIA Karl-Marx-Stadt. From 1975 he was chairman of the district party control commission Karl-Marx-Stadt of the NDPD and from 1977 member of the management of the district committee of the anti-fascist resistance fighters of the GDR .
