Matthew Davis
Matthew W. Davis (born May 8, 1978 in Salt Lake City , Utah ) is an American actor .
Life
Matthew Davis attended Woods Cross High School in Woods Cross, Utah, and the University of Utah , where he discovered his interest in acting . He moved first to New York City and later to Los Angeles . There he initially worked as a pizza delivery boy.
In 2000 he made his film debut in Tigerland with Colin Farrell . Other film offers followed, such as a role in the comedy Naturally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon . He has also played history teacher Alaric Saltzman at Mystic Falls High School in the US mystery series Vampire Diaries since 2009 . In 2012 he got the role of Jeff Sefton in the cult drama series .
Matthew Davis married actress Leelee Sobieski in September 2008 . The two separated a year later.
