Matt Simons (born February 20, 1987 in Palo Alto , California ) is an American singer-songwriter .

biography

Matt Simons, 2016

Simons was born in Brooklyn in 1987 and grew up in Palo Alto , California . He studied jazz and saxophone at the State University of New York's Purchase Conservatory of Music and then began a career as a singer-songwriter. In 2009 his first EP Fall in Line was released . Three years passed before his debut album Pieces .

While performing in the Netherlands, the producers of the soap opera Goede tijden discovered his song With You and used it in an episode of the series. It then became a top 10 hit in the Nederlandse Top 40 in early 2013 , and the album also made it to the charts. He appeared as a guest coach on the Dutch talent show X-Factor .

His second album, Catch & Release , was released at the end of 2014. In the Netherlands, it hit the charts again. The title song just missed the Top 40. However, it was remixed and released as a deep house song by the two DJs from Deepend . This time it was the Belgians who got interested in this version of the song. It became a number one hit first in the Flemish-speaking part and eventually also in the French-speaking part of the country . The remix was then released in Germany and France and also topped the charts there.
