Matthias Ludwig von Lossow

Matthias Ludwig von Lossow (born October 7, 1717 in Bansedow in the Stolp district ; † October 12, 1783 in Minden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and chief of a regiment named after him.

Life

origin

His parents were the royal Polish lieutenant colonel Johann Georg von Lossow (born March 29, 1670 - February 26, 1746) and Johanne Konstanze von Zastrow from the house of Bansedow.

Career

Lossow was married to Charlotte Luise Schneider (* June 21, 1732 - December 13, 1812) since May 18, 1782. With this marriage he also legitimized his son, the later Prussian general Constantin von Lossau (* July 23, 1767, † February 16, 1848).
