Matthias Strohmaier (born March 11, 1994 in Dingolfing ) is a German football player who plays in the position of central defender and has been under contract with VfR Garching since July 1, 2019 .
Career
societies
From the age of 14 to 19, Strohmaier was a member of the youth boarding school of TSV 1860 Munich before he was signed by FC Augsburg for their second team for the 2012/13 season . For this he scored four goals in 45 point games in two seasons in the fourth-class Regionalliga Bayern .
During the current season he was signed by Bayern Munich for the second team. With his debut on April 28, 2014 (34th matchday) in a 6-0 win at home against SV Seligenporten , he still had a share in the championship he won. In the two following seasons under the coaches Erik ten Hag (until 2015 ) and Heiko Vogel , he played 46 point games in which he scored two goals.
For the 2016/17 season , Strohmaier was signed by the super league club FC Vaduz from Liechtenstein, with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2018. He made his competitive debut on July 21, 2016 in a 2-2 draw against FC Midtjylland in the second leg of the second qualifying round for the 2016/17 Europa League .
Strohmaier switched to the Bavarian regional league team 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 for the 2017/18 season . With the Lower Franconians he reached the second main round in the DFB Cup in his first season and won the Bavarian Toto Cup .
National team
Strohmaier made his debut in the national jersey on March 22, 2012 in Emmendingen in the 3-2 defeat of the U-18 national team against France with a substitute for Robin Yalçın in the 75th minute. In the same year he was also called up for the first time for the U-19 national team, for which he made his debut on August 14 in Falkirk in the 1-0 victory over Scotland .
