The Maulawin Spring Protected Landscape is located on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It was established on June 22, 1940 in an area of 418 hectares in the province of Quezon in the municipal area of Guinayangan and was an initial part of NIPAS Act 7586 as Maulawin Spring Watershed Reserve, which was originally established on January 2, 1939 .
The nature reserve is located approx. 260 km southeast of Manila , it can be reached via the Maharlika Highway and includes larger rainforest stocks in the Quezon province .
The nature reserve is located in a hilly area and has an elevation profile of 200 to 400 meters above sea level. The climate in the area is tropical warm and humid without a pronounced dry period, there is an average of 1,570 mm / m² of rain per year and the air humidity averages 83%.
The reserve is home to a wide range of the flora and fauna of the Philippines and the area is a headwaters of various smaller rivers and streams and the primary source of drinking water in the community.
