The Pamitinan Protected Landscape is located on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It was established on October 10, 1996 on an area of ​​6.08 km² in the province of Rizal in the municipality of Rodriguez . The conservation area is located in the Montalban Gorge, formed by the Marikina River, in which the Wawa-wawa waterfall is located. The area is known for its white limestone rock formations that reach a height of 404 meters above sea level.

The conservation area is located approx. 32 km northeast of Manila in the western foothills of the Sierra Madre . In the nature reserve is the Pamitinan Cave, which was a secret meeting place of the Katipunan . Eight high-ranking revolutionaries carved their names on the cave walls, these were Emilio Jacinto , Andres Bonifacio , Faustino Mañalac , Francisco Del Castillo , Valeriano Dalida , Pedro Zabala , Guillermo Masangkay . The engravings date from April 10th and 11th, 1895 and are under the incision Viva la Independencia Filipinas . After the scratches were discovered in 1995, the cave was declared a Historical Landmark. The Marikina Watershed Forest Reserve is to the east of the nature reserve .
