The Quezon National Park is located in the province of Quezon on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It covers an area of ​​983 hectares and was established on an area of ​​535 hectares with the entry into force of Presidential Decree 740 of October 25, 1934. On August 5, 1940, it was expanded to its present size with decree 594. It is listed in the annex of the NIPAS Act 1992 as a protected landscape area.

It lies on an approx. 15 km² limestone plateau, which extends over the area of ​​the municipalities of Pagbilao , Padre Burgos and Atimonan . To the east is the Binahaan River Watershed Forest Reserve . In the southwest, the Maharlika Highway crosses the national park and connects it to the provincial capital, Lucena City, about 25 km away . It is a popular destination for tourists and the local population.

The core zone of the national park is formed by evergreen lowland rainforests , which are criss-crossed by karstified mountain ranges. These reach a height of 420 meters above sea level. The varied natural scenery offers a habitat for the endemic , almost meter-long gray monitor lizard (Varanus olivaceus) . From the Avifauna are stocks of the Philippines hood Eagle (Nisaetus philippensis) , the spotted Fruchttaube (Ducula Carola) , the rare Luzon Spatelschwanzpapageis (Prioniturus luconensis) , the Philippine Eagle-Owl (Bubo philippensis) , the gold Fischer (Ceyx melanurus) and the Mindoro throttle ( Zoothera cinerea) worth mentioning.
