Maxim Michailowitsch Beresin ( Russian Максим Михайлович Березин ; born January 29, 1991 in Ischewsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Continental Hockey League since May 2019 .
Career
Maxim Beresin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League in the 2007/08 season . The defender then moved to Neftjanik Leninogorsk in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga for a year . He finally ended the season at the Swedish club Mora IK , for whose U18 and U20 juniors he played one game each.
For the 2009/10 season Beresin returned to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk, for whose professional team he made his debut in the Continental Hockey League . In his rookie year , the left shooter remained pointless in a total of 14 games and received twelve penalty minutes. The rest of the time he spent in the junior team of Neftechimik, for which he scored 36 scorer points in 50 games in the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga , including six goals. The following season , the junior international began again in parallel in Neftechimik's professional team in the KHL and its junior team in the MHL, where he was significantly more often in the KHL squad than in the previous season.
From 2012 he ran exclusively for the professional team of Neftechimik. After more than ten years in the club, Beresin left Neftechimik in the early summer of 2017 and moved to HK Awangard Omsk within the KHL . There he was under contract for two years before he was signed by Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in May 2019 .
International
For Russia , Beresin took part in the 2011 U20 World Junior Championship , where he won the gold medal with his team. He contributed to winning the title with three assists in seven games.
