Sergei Wladimirowitsch Sborovsky ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Зборовский ; English transcription: Sergei Vladimirovich Zborovsky ; born February 21, 1997 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg from the continental hockey league since May 2020 (KHL) there plays in the position of defender .
Career
Sergei Sborowski comes from the youth division of HK CSKA Moscow , for which he was active until 2011. He then moved to the juniors of HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose various junior teams he played in regional leagues. From January 2014 he was also used at HK MWD Balaschicha , the junior team Dynamos in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League .
In 2014 he went to North America to the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League . The defender was selected in the third round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft as the 79th overall player by the New York Rangers . In July 2016, Sborowski was signed by the Rangers on a three-year entry - level contract. In June 2018, New York prematurely terminated the existing contract with the Russian, who then returned to his home country. He signed a contract with HK Sochi from the Continental Hockey League and moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod after a year . He then moved to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the summer of 2020 .

For Russia , Sborowski took part in the junior division of the 2017 U20 World Cup , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
