The Mein Schiff 6 is a cruise ship of the shipping company TUI Cruises . It entered service on May 12, 2017, has a length of 295 meters and is approved for 2534 passengers. It sails under the Maltese flag.

On August 4, 2014, TUI Cruises ordered the Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 6 with delivery in 2016 and 2017 from STX Finland with reservations. At the same time, Meyer Werft announced the takeover of the Turku site. However, the contract only became legally effective in September 2014 through the participation of Meyer Werft and the renaming to Meyer Turku Oy . The first steel section of the Mein Schiff 6 took place on 23 June 2015 and the ship was on 25 April 2016 the hull number 1390 laid Kiel . Instead of the conventional launch , the Mein Schiff 6 floated in the construction dock on January 3, 2017 and the first sea tests took place in April 2017.
On May 8, 2017, the Mein Schiff 6 was handed over to the shipping company in Turku , after which she moved to the Ostseekai in Kiel for further equipment on May 11, 2017 , in order to be christened in Hamburg after a first Baltic cruise. The ship was christened on June 1, 2017 in front of the Elbphilharmonie , godmother was Iveta Apkalna , the titular organist of the Elbphilharmonie. The christening voyage led to Kiel, followed by the maiden voyage towards the North Cape on June 3rd .
