Melanie Hoffmann (born November 29, 1974 in Haan ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
societies
Melanie Hoffmann started playing soccer when she was six years old when she was playing on the street with children from the neighborhood. She came to FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen via the stations Garather SV , TuS Xanten , Fortuna Düsseldorf and KBC Duisburg . In 1998 the first successes at club level followed. With FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen she won both the championship and the DFB Cup . Two years later she and the team also won the DFB Indoor Cup . In 2003 Hoffmann moved to the American professional league WUSA and played 13 point games for the Philadelphia Charge , in which they scored three goals; at the end of the season she was appointed to the all-star team. The WUSA was discontinued in 2003 for financial reasons, so that Hoffmann returned to FCR Duisburg 2001 in 2004. For the season 2004/05 she moved to league rivals SG Essen-Schoenebeck for which they played until 30 June 2013 and last captain was.
National team
On May 23, 1995, she made her debut in the senior national team , which won against Switzerland 8-0. Her first international goal she scored on June 25, 1998 in a 1-1 draw against the United States with the goal to 1-0 in the 50th minute.
She took part with the team in the from June 5 to 18, 1995 in Sweden , which finished the tournament in second; in the tournament, however, it was not used. She also took part in the European Championship held from June 29 to July 12, 1997 in Norway and Sweden . With the use in the third group game , in the 2-0 victory against the selection of Denmark , she contributed to the tournament victory and the European championship. Furthermore, she took part in the Olympic football tournament in Sydney 2000 , played the last group game , which was 1-0 against Sweden , as well as the bronze game , which was won against Brazil 2-0; this game was also her last international match for the DFB .
