Melilli is a town in the municipality consortium Syracuse outdoors in the region Sicily in Italy with 13,585 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Melilli is located 26 km northwest of Syracuse . The residents mainly work in agriculture, construction and quarries. There are other jobs in the Augusta-Priolo industrial complex , a production facility for petroleum products.

The neighboring municipalities are Augusta , Carlentini , Priolo Gargallo , Syracuse and Sortino .

In the Middle Ages Melilli belonged to Augusta.
