Meredith Leigh Monroe (born December 30, 1969 in Houston , Texas ) is an American actress .

Life

Meredith Monroe was born in Houston , Texas in December 1969 and grew up in Hinsdale , Illinois . She began her acting career after high school in commercials , including for L'Oréal and Mentos . Her first role was in the 1997 film Norville and Trudy . This was followed by a guest role on Dangerous Minds , which moved her to move from New York to Los Angeles. She then got various guest roles in various series, including 1998 in Sunset Beach , The Glorious Seven , Players and 2008 in Californication .

Her breakthrough came with the role of Andie McPhee in Dawson's Creek . Monroe was then seen in a number of films, such as 2000 and 2002 in the CBS film series Beyond the Prairie . Other projects in 2002 and 2003 were the films New Best Friend , Minority Report and Manhood .

After leaving Dawson's Creek in 2000, she played in various series, such as Criminal Minds , Private Practice and The Mentalist .

She has been married to Steven Kavovit since 1999 .
