Mesud Pezer (born August 27, 1994 in Zenica ) is a Bosnian shot putter who occasionally competes in a discus throw .
Athletic career
Mesud Pezer gained his first international experience at the 2011 World Youth Championships near Lille , where he finished sixth with 19.79 m. He then won the bronze medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon with 19.13 m and finished sixth in the discus throw with 53.90 m. The following year he was at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with 19.83 m fifth. In 2013 he won the European Junior Championships in Rieti with 20.44 m and two years later he finished fourth at the 2015 European Athletics U23 Championships in Tallinn with 18.98 m. In 2016 he was twelfth at the European Championships in Amsterdam with 19.49 m and also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was eliminated with 19.55 m in qualification .
In 2017, he finished seventh at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade with 20.37 m and failed to qualify for the final at the World Championships in London with 19.88 m . In 2018 he finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 21.15 m and won the bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with 19.82 m behind his compatriot Hamza Alić and Stipe Žunić from Croatia. He then came back to twelfth place at the European Championships in Berlin with 19.91 m. In 2019 he finished sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 20.69 m and in October he was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in Doha with 20.17 m .
In 2013 and 2019, Pezer was the Bosnian champion in discus throwing and in 2019 in the shot put as well.
