Metzgete is a quiz show format that was developed by Swiss comedian Beat Schlatter together with the Swiss production company FaroTV and Swiss radio and television . In the TV show, prominent game candidates have to guess the name of a well-known personality who can be seen in an image that is not visible to them. The broadcast will be recorded live in front of an audience. The first broadcast in Switzerland was on July 4, 2013 on SRF 1 . The moderator was the comedian Fabian Unteregger .

The game principle

The prominent game candidates are allowed to ask a maximum of five questions to a comedy team that provides tips on the person they are looking for. If you manage to find the VIP you're looking for, you can win up to a million.

Prize wins and penalties

The currency in which the winnings are paid out must be determined at random on a wheel of fortune. If the candidates cannot find the prominent personality they are looking for after five questions, they have to go to the wheel of bad luck: There they are assigned a delicate task.

List of candidates and comedians

A slew of prominent figures appeared in each of the episodes of the TV comedy show.

The show assistant was the burlesque dancer Zoe Scarlett. She wore rabbit ears and a stubby tail on the show and was called Bunny.

music

At Metzgete - Heiteres Prominentenrats there are recurring “musical interludes” composed by the Swiss “Landolt Nievergelt Quintett” (which also appears in every live broadcast). The two-person quintet explained its deliberately misleading name to the show audience by saying that four hands (banjo and Hammond organ) and one foot (for the drums) were necessary for the musical accompaniment of the show.
