Michał Kotlorz (born May 12, 1987 in Katowice ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with GKS Tychy in the Ekstraliga since 2007 .

Career

Michał Kotlorz began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of GKS Tychy . In 2004 he was accepted into the youth academy of the Polish ice hockey association Szkoła Mistrzostwa Sportowego , for which he played in the second-class I league until 2006. He then moved to Naprzód Janów in his native city of Katowice . At the district club, which had just been promoted back to the Ekstraliga , he completed his first first division games. But after only a year he was drawn back to his home club GKS Tychy, for which he has been on the ice ever since. With the Silesians he won the Polish ice hockey cup in 2008, 2009 and 2010 . In the championship he reached the playoff final four times with the GKS Tychy, but it was not enough to win the title because all four series of final were lost (2008, 2009 and 2011 against KS Cracovia , 2014 against KH Sanok ). In 2011 he was nominated for the Ekstraliga all-star game. In 2015 the big hit finally happened when Kotlorz not only became Polish champion with the GKS Tychy for the first time in his career , but also won the cup competition and thus the double.

International

For Poland , Kotlorz took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships in Division I 2005 and the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2006 and 2007 .

In the senior sector, the defender was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2010 , 2011 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 . He also played for Poland in the qualifications for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
