Michael Aish

Michael Aish (born July 24, 1976 in New Plymouth ) is a New Zealand long-distance runner .

Career

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he started over 10,000 m , but was eliminated in the preliminary run. Over the same distance, he finished eighth at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. At the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, he did not reach the finish line in the 10,000 m heat.

In 2004 he became national champion over 10,000 m. At the Olympic Games in Athens he was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run.

In 2005 he came eleventh at Grandma's Marathon and 13th at the Fukuoka Marathon in 2006 . At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , he finished seventh over 10,000m, and the following year he finished 18th at the 2007 World Cup in Osaka over the same distance.

In 2008 he won the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon , in which he was sixth the following year. In the marathon of the World Cup in Berlin , he did not reach the goal.

Michael Aish is 1.75 m tall and weighs 60 kg. The graduate of the Western State College of Colorado is trained by Nic Bideau, first started for the sporting goods company Nike and then belonged to the Strands team. He lives in Gunnison ( Colorado ) with his wife, the American long-distance runner Nicole Aish (née Jefferson ).
