Michael Brettner

Michael Brettner (born December 16, 1975 in Trier ) is a German guitarist , sound designer , composer and producer . As a sought-after live and studio guitarist, his broad stylistic spectrum ranges from country music to hits , funk , soul , pop , rock and metal to blues . He is known for virtuoso playing technique, his unusual rock sounds and his preference for tartan skirts as a stage wardrobe.

biography

At the age of 15, Brettner began to play the guitar and showed above-average talent. He has played around 1000 concerts so far and has played with well-known artists such as the Luxembourg Symphony Orchestra , Peter Maffay , Michael Holm , Jørn Lande , Jacob Hansonis , diVan , Meike Anlauff , Lubricant (Destruction), Dominik Krämer ( Heavytones ), the Saturday Night All Stars , Stefan Rademacher ( Billy Cobham , George Duke ), the orthopedic stockings or Rainer Kind ( Chuck Berry ) on stage. In 2000, Brettner was voted Europe's best young guitarist by the Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA). So far, this prize has only been awarded in the " Guitarist " category, although the Los Angeles Music Academy does not officially have such a chair.

Brettner was an endorser for guitars (Siggi Braun, British Custom Guitars, Dean Guitars ) and amplifiers ( Diezel Amps , Kulik Design) and worked for companies such as Hughes & Kettner or AMT at music fairs in Frankfurt and Moscow. As a sound designer, he developed modern heavy metal sounds for Hughes & Kettner . He also works as a music lecturer at the Popfarm in Bonn and at the Karl Berg Music School in Trier, working group Jazz and Rock School Trier .

He currently plays in Matthias Reim's live band , in the Micky Brühl Band and in the Berlin formation Üebermutter together with front woman Luci van Org from Lucilectric .
