Michael Alex Crabtree, Jr. (* 14. September 1987 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He last played for the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL) and is currently a free agent .

college

Crabtree, also a talented and successful track and field athlete and basketball player in his youth , has received scholarship offers from several universities. He chose Texas Tech University and played college football for their team, the Red Raiders, with great success , scoring a total of 41 touchdowns . Although he only played two seasons, he was able to set a number of school, but also national records. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding achievements, including the Maxwell Award and twice the prestigious Fred Biletnikoff Award .

NFL

San Francisco 49ers

Crabtree was selected in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft as the 10th overall player by the San Francisco 49ers . Since there were difficulties with his contract, he did not appear in his rookie season until week 7, but ran in all 11 remaining games as a starter . In the following seasons he was able to establish himself as an important part of the offense.

In 2012 he had his most successful season to date. He could not only reach Super Bowl XLVII with his team , in which Crabtree even managed a touchdown, which was nevertheless lost to the Baltimore Ravens ; he himself was able to run more than 1,000 yards for the first time .

In 2013 he was only able to play five games due to an Achilles tendon rupture , but in 2014 he returned to his old form.

Oakland Raiders

On April 13, 2015, he signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Raiders . After his season was excellent with nine touchdowns, the contract was extended for another four years in December 2015. On March 15, 2018, he was released after three years.

Baltimore Ravens

On March 16, 2018, Crabtree signed a three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. However, he started with 54 passes for 609 yards and three touchdowns, the fewest passes since his rookie season and led the league with eight drops . He was then released on February 25, 2019.

Arizona Cardinals

In August 2019, Crabtree signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals . There he could not meet the expectations and was released after three regular season games.
