In 1998 he decided to train as a specialist in osteopathic procedures in order to be able to treat patients more holistically. This is related to an image of man derived from anthroposophy . Eisenmeier completed the corresponding training at the German Academy for Osteopathic Medicine .

In September 2005, Michael Eisenmeier founded a practice in the center of Bielefeld, at Welle 18, which in the following years developed into a medical center with various specialist areas. Eisenmeier has been its medical director since 2009. The Welle18 named after your address is a practice for private patients and self-payers . Volunteering

Shaped by the family tradition ("I had the incentive to do something like my father"), Michael Eisenmeier was already active as a young man in social and voluntary institutions and projects. Both his grandfather and Eisenmeier's parents worked as volunteers and donors .

Kurt and Doris Eisenmeier have been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit First Class 2010 for their commitment and for the establishment of the Sassen near Schlitz estate . Michael Eisenmeier has been a member of the board of the parental Merkur Foundation , which was founded in 1983 and financially supports scientific and social projects as well as the Sassen facility . He contributed part of his inheritance for which he “did nothing” to this institution at an early stage.

In connection with his work as a doctor in Bielefeld, Eisenmeier started his own social projects and facilities in the East Westphalian city . He founded in 1987 the club Merkur therapeutic whose first president he stayed for many years. The Merkur-Kultur association was added later, and the physician chaired it until 2009.

Merkur-Therapeutikum financially supported the medical care and care of those in need (e.g. through art therapies or home nursing ). At the same time, both institutions - similar to the Merkur Foundation in Hesse - acted according to the model of anthroposophy.

In his role as a socially committed person, Michael Eisenmeier is also Vice President of the Royal and Merciful Association of Medal Winners of Belgium (for Regional Germany).

In his projects, Michael Eisen Meier equally seek other for the volunteer and voluntary educate commitment and to inspire them for it. In this context, he had started the Brutblatt campaign on his sixtieth birthday : The Goethe plant , which was already reproducing from a single leaf, was given to friends and partners as a gift and as a symbol for passing on to encourage the idea of volunteer work. Since this was not understood accordingly, it was decided shortly afterwards to set up an institution that should have the promotion of voluntary work as an essential core task: the Aurora Foundation .

Aurora Foundation

In April 2016, the Aurora Foundation was founded , whose first chairman and inaugurator is Michael Eisenmeier. It is an internationally and regionally active, non-profit association that is to be developed into a foundation under public law in the coming years . The patron is the politician and member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, Matthias Bolte-Richter .

The Aurora Hilfswerk , headed by Jörg Schubert, is directly assigned as a separate association . This not only acts as an executive for the projects it oversees, in the acquisition of funds and public relations, but also serves as an organization that interested parties can join as members. The foundation, consisting of the board of directors, manages the capital.

The foundation and aid organization jointly maintain numerous collaborations with other institutions, both for the purpose of support and for campaigns and projects with them. For example, one is a member of the German Society for the United Nations eV (DGVN for short) and maintains relationships with institutions such as the Royal and Merciful Association of Medal Winners of Belgium or initiatives such as Go for Ghana .

The motto and guiding principle of the Aurora is "Help for self-help". The subsidized institutions and projects (e.g. in Ghana ) are intended to support the needy in improving their living conditions in general, including in the area of education.

Before the foundation was set up, there was a long-term cooperation relationship with some of the associated institutions; for example on the part of the Merkur Foundation for a care project for disabled people in Kyrgyzstan .
