Michael Felder

Michael Felder (born May 10, 1966 in Gernsbach ; † August 5, 2012 in Zermatt ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Felder studied Catholic theology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , in Malta and in Rome and completed an education in church music . In 1993 he was ordained a priest by Walter Kasper , the then bishop of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese . He worked as a vicar with a focus on youth work in Waiblingen and Wangen im Allgäu . In 1999 he was awarded with his dissertation The testimony of the successor. The spirituality of the religious teachers with Jacques Schepens at the Pontifical University of the Salesians for Dr. theol. PhD . Until 2004, Felder worked for five years as pastor and district dean in Spaichingen , before gaining pastoral experience as a student pastor in Tübingen for another five years from 2004 .

In 2009 he took over the German-speaking associated professorship for pastoral theology , religious education and homiletics at the theological faculty of the University of Friborg in Switzerland . From 2011, Felder was editor of the magazine Diakonia .

On August 5, 2012, he died of heart failure. Uwe Wolff dedicated a personal obituary to him on his homepage.

In 2013, Salvatore Loiero succeeded Michael Felders at the Friborg Chair for Pastoral Theology, Religious Education and Homiletics .

Felder was a member of the Catholic student association KStV Alamannia Tübingen .
