Michael Kersting (music producer)
Michael Bernard Kersting (born December 10, 1965 ) is a German music producer , publisher and composer who u. a. has produced the artists and bands Der Wolf , Young Deenay , Sasha , Ben and Max Mutzke .
Career
In 1986 Kersting set up his first own professional recording studio in Werl -Niederbergstrasse called Click. In the same breath he founded the music publisher Click Publishing and combined both companies under the name Clickmusic. At the same time, he founded his first band under the name Private Property and in 1989 signed a band takeover contract with the major label Warner Music in Hamburg . Together with the music producer Pete Smith the first single Waiting for the Morning Sun was released. Since the commercial success did not want to set, Kersting then decided to work only as a music producer .
Activity as producer, composer and publisher
In 1993 Kersting achieved the first placement in the German single charts with the title Declaration (DipDipDa) by the band Sir Prize. Further successes as a music producer, composer and publisher followed in the 90s with Double Impact , rapper Der Wolf , hip-hop singer Young Deenay , Q Connection and Sasha . Sasha, who has been under contract with Clickmusic since 1991, achieved an international breakthrough as a German artist in 1998 with the help of the single If You Believe, written and produced by Kersting and Pomez di Lorenzo .
He had another great success in 2003 with Dick Brave and the Backbeats . From 2005 to 2010 Kersting produced artists such as Max Mutzke and Uwe Ochsenknecht with Offenbach producer Oliver Rüger .
In 2010 Kersting signed the ska-punk band Sondaschule . In 2011 the Leipzig band Flimmerfrühstück followed , which he produced together with Swen Meyer . In October 2011 he released the second record with Dick Brave and the Backbeats under the title Rock`n`Roll Therapy , which received a gold record .
In summer 2013 he signed the artist LOT from Leipzig. Kersting landed another success in 2015 with the album Schön kaputt by the band Sondaschule .
