Michael Konstantin von Zaremba-Kalinowa (born September 15, 1711 at Gut Kimelen, Lithuania , † August 30, 1786 in Brieg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

He was the son of the heir to the Kimelen estate, Johann von Zaremba and his wife Katharina, née von Minulitz.

Military career

Zaremba was initially a page with Friedrich Ludwig zu Dohna-Carwinds . In mid-May 1726 he joined the infantry regiment "von Bechefer" of the Prussian army as a commoner and at the end of April 1734 he joined the infantry regiment "zu Dohna" as an ensign . There he was promoted to second lieutenant in September 1735 . In the middle of September 1741 Zaremba took over the job, entered Polish service and was employed as a cavalry master in Prince Radziwill's dragoon regiment. In 1744 he rejoined the Prussian infantry as a prime lieutenant . In June 1770 he became major general and head of the regiment . On the occasion of a review in 1776, he received the order Pour le Mérite . During the Bavarian Hereditary War , Zaremba was in the king's army in 1778/79 and took part in the battle near Weißkirch. In mid-July 1779 he became provost of the cathedral in Minden , rose to lieutenant general in May 1782 and received the Order of the Black Eagle in July 1782 .

family

In his first marriage Zaremba married Dorothea Sophie von Maltzahn († 1754) in 1749. After their death, he married Juliane Elisabeth Freiin von Liedlau and Ellguth (1722–1794), the daughter-in-law of the Prussian Field Marshal Friedrich Leopold von Geßler (1688–1762) , who was widowed from his first marriage in 1761 . From his first marriage he had two daughters, including Elisabeth Konstantine, who married Heinrich Ernst von Mauderode and became the mother of Major General Ernst von Mauderode .
