Ernst von Mauderode

Michael Wilhelm Heinrich Ernst von Mauderode (born February 21, 1780 in Brieg ; † September 2, 1863 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Ernst was the son of the Prussian major Heinrich Ernst von Mauderode (1735–1791) and his wife Wilhelme, born von Zaremba-Kalinowa (1754–1819), daughter of General Michael Konstantin von Zaremba .

Military career

Mauderode occurred on July 1, 1790, Corporal Corporal in the Infantry Regiment "of Gentzkow" the Prussian army , but in mid August 1791 the Berlin cadet transferred and then graduated from the Académie militaire. After graduating, he served as an ensign in the infantry regiment "Fürst Hohenlohe" from mid-September 1797 and advanced to secondary lieutenant at the end of June 1798 . In the Fourth Coalition War he took part in the Battle of Jena and retired from the army in mid-November 1807 after the Peace of Tilsit .

In the run-up to the Wars of Liberation , Mauderode rejoined the army on March 12, 1813 and became an adjutant to General von Kessel . In this position he rose to staff captain until the end of November 1813 . From April 19 to July 31, 1814 he was adjutant to General von Gaudi . Mauderode was then transferred to the 2nd Division of the General War Department in the War Ministry and promoted to captain on February 12, 1815 .

After the war, on February 17, 1817, he was transferred to the Adjutantur and employed as an adjutant at the General Inspectorate of the Engineer Corps . Mauderode was promoted to major on March 30, 1818 adjutant at the general inspection of the fortresses. In 1832 he was accepted into the Order of St. John . On March 30, 1834 he became a lieutenant colonel and, while remaining in his position, a member of the study commission of the artillery and engineering school. By the end of March 1836 Mauderode rose to colonel and in January 1846 received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, on the occasion of the festival . Under awarding of the character as a major general, he took his on March 6, 1849 farewell with board . He died on September 2, 1863 in Berlin.

Mauderode married on January 5, 1810 in Breslau Sophie von Hauteville-Jacquemin (1786-1866), the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Franz von Hauteville. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Pauline (1812–1892) ⚭ 1839 Friedrich Karl Hermann Viktor von Kehler (1804–1886), Privy Councilor and son of Major General Karl von Kehler
