Michael Rudolf

Michael Rudolf (born May 14, 1961 in Marienberg ; † February 2, 2007 near Greiz ) was a German writer and publisher .

Live and act

During the GDR era, Rudolf first began to study law in Halle and then completed a distance learning course as an engineer for brewery technology ; then he worked eight years as a shift supervisor in the Greizer club brewery. The professional interest in beer was later reflected as a recurring subject in his literary work. Rudolf published various beer guides and earned the title of “Germany's most feared beer drinker” through his sarcasm . He also published on rock music , mycology and the like. a. In the 1990s, Rudolf worked alongside his writing activities for the Frankfurt satirical magazine Titanic and ran the Weißer Stein publishing house in his home town of Greiz, which he founded in 1990 . As an author, Rudolf wrote regularly in various newspapers and magazines, such as B. for the taz and as a columnist in the young world .

Michael Rudolf was reported missing in February 2007. His body was discovered on July 9, 2007 in a forest near Greiz; apparently he hanged himself on the day of his disappearance, February 2, 2007. He left a wife and daughter.
