Life

Boudart came from a Belgian industrial family, his father François Boudart was President of the Fédération des Industries Chimiques de Belgique . Michel Boudart's chemistry studies were interrupted by World War II. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Université catholique de Louvain in 1945 and a master's degree in 1947 . In 1950 he received his doctorate with Hugh Stott Taylor at Princeton University , where he then received a lectureship. In 1953 he became deputy director of the SQUID project, in 1954 assistant professor at Princeton, and in 1958 associate professor .
