Miguel Torres Gómez (born January 28, 1986 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football player .

His preferred position is right full defense, but his versatility allows him to play on the left as well as in central defense.

Career

In the club

Miguel Torres began his footballing career at Real Madrid when he was nine . At the Madrilenians he went through all youth categories before joining the squad for Real Madrid Castilla second team in the summer of 2006 . He made his debut in the first team in the Spanish Cup on October 25, 2006 against Écija Balompié . The injury-related failures of the full-backs Roberto Carlos , Marcelo and Míchel Salgado as well as his strong performances meant that he was regularly in the starting line-up of the first team from January 2007. In August 2009 Torres moved to Getafe FC , Real Madrid kept a buyback option until 2011. In August 2013 Torres signed a three-year contract with the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus , which was dissolved after just one year.

For the 2014/15 season Torres moved to Málaga FC .

In the national team

Miguel Torres made his debut in the Spanish U-21s against England on February 6, 2007 .
