Mihail Georgescu (also Mihai Georgescu ; born November 3, 1985 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing again at the CSM Dunărea Galați in the MOL league since January 2017 .

Career

Club

Mihail Georgescu began his career in his native city near Dinamo Bucharest . After the team withdrew from the Romanian ice hockey league in 2004 , he moved to the Moldova region to CSM Dunărea Galaauri . But after a year he returned to the capital and has been playing for Steaua Bucharest ever since . With the Romanian record champion, he won his last national championship title in 2006 and won the cup competition in 2006, 2009 and 2012 . In 2008/09 and 2010 to 2012 he also played with Steaua in the multinational MOL league . After almost twelve years he returned to Galați and played there for CSM Dunărea in the MOL league.

International

Georgescu was already active in the junior division at world championships: At the U18 World Championship in 2001 he played in Division III, in 2002 and 2003 he was active in Division II. In the U20 junior division, he also started in Division III in 2002 and was then on the ice in Division II in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 .

Georgescu made his debut in the men's national team at the 2005 World Cup when the Romanians were relegated from Division I to Division II. He then played in Division II in 2006 and 2017 and in Division I in 2007 , 2009 and 2014. He was also on the ice for his colors in the Olympic qualifications for the 2010 Vancouver 2018 Games in Pyeongchang .
